Anatomy & Physiology

A course to study both the structure and function of the human body. The mechanisms of homeostasis and the interrelationships of the various body systems will be emphasized.

Introduction to College English/Composition I

Facilitator: Prof. Roberta Brown

Introduction to College English:  This course will help students refine their literacy skills to prepare for college success. Students will practice reading comprehension (inference, analysis, synthesis, and critical thinking) with a range of literacy and information texts. Students will utilize the complete writing process (including grammar/sentence structure) to produce paragraphs and short essays.

Composition & Rhetoric I: Extensive practice in the skills involved in clear and effective writing.

Introduction to Chemistry

Introduction to chemistry covering general, and organic; can be used for general education and nursing requirements (Requires some algebra. This course is broader in scope but less intense and/or mathematical on specific topics than General Chemistry.

Math Foundations/Introductory Algebra/Principles of Financial Accounting

Facilitator: Dr. Tanya Rivers & Dr. Laurie Barfitt

Math Foundations:  A review of mathematical computations and problem-solving for the student whose background in basic arithmetic skills needs strengthening.

Introductory Algebra:  Introduces algebra to the student with little or no algebra background.

Principles of Financial Accounting: An introduction to financial accounting concepts emphasizing the analysis of business transactions.
